DIEGO DE ERICE

He was born on August 9, 1986.

His artistic gifts began to manifest themselves at a young age in different types of art; finding a special passion, spontaneously and self-taught, for painting.

He has a clear tendency for abstract expressionism, he enjoys experimenting with the concept as well with the form. Over time, he has been testing and perfecting different techniques and ideas that have led him to quickly establish himself in a privileged place within

the art market and exhibition in Mexico.

His work not only shows the truth of his most intimate discourses, but it is also an invitation to personal retrospection, a confrontation with the reality that each person has in their hands. The possibility of knowing, understanding and accepting oneself, the possibility of

personal freedom.

ARTIST STATEMENT

For me, art is the most truthful way of communicating to the world what I feel, and what I understand about my reality. It is the place where I can comprehend people and situations that helps me define and reinvent myself over and over again. It is my own language, one that I have the privilege of being able to share with anyone who wants to listen.

My way of playing with materials is based on a relentless impulse to shout a sensation or feeling, where the key questions help me assign a perfect place to colors, shapes and brush-strokes, in order to connect with myself, and of course with the viewer.

When I understand that not only have I had a dialogue with myself, but that the person who observes a piece is also having it, then I know that I have managed to create something big. In fact, I must affirm, that every time someone experiences a sensation or feeling from my work, I am reborn as an artist, since I create a new and unrepeatable bond with each of my viewers, which not only helps them understand something of them, but, it also teaches me something new about me.
